List of advantages of synthetic engine grease

1. High oil film strength: synthetic lubricating oil film strength is as high as 225MPa, while mineral lubricating oil film strength is about 22.5MPa on average. The high oil film strength enables the power transmission system to directly lubricate the components, such as bearings, oil rings, valve trains, gears, etc., have better anti-wear effects.

2. Viscosity characteristics:

During the use of mineral oil, due to the combined effect of thermal degradation and oxidative degradation, it will have a high viscosity, which is caused by the presence of unstable substances in the mineral base oil. Synthetic base oil does not contain these unstable substances and has a good combination with antioxidants. Therefore, when the same antioxidant is used, it has a better antioxidant effect than mineral oil damping grease. Therefore, synthetic lubricating oil exhibits good viscosity performance of special grease, and its viscosity increase is less than 50% in MS program 30E engine test.

The viscosity change in the use of lubricating oil is also affected by the decrease in the shear performance of the viscosity index improver. The shear stability of engine oil and the performance of maintaining this viscosity grade depend on the type and quality of viscosity index improvers used in the oil formulation. The molecular type and molecular weight distribution of mineral base oils are wide. Under high temperature, low molecular weight substances are easy to evaporate, causing evaporation loss. The remaining higher molecular weight substances will increase the viscosity and make it difficult to start the engine cold. Synthetic base oil can better control volatility and reduce evaporation loss.

3. Low temperature fluidity and high temperature volatility: Compared with mineral base oils, synthetic base oils are easier to flow at low temperatures, have a lower pour point, and the delivery temperature of boundary pump dry lubricants is also lower, and can be faster than mineral oils at low temperatures. Ground lubrication and reduce wear, but also reduce starting load and stress.

4. Fuel economy: The friction coefficient of synthetic oil is lower than that of mineral oil, which can reduce power loss and save fuel at corresponding speed and load. In addition, synthetic oil can be adjusted to low viscosity oil (5W or 10W/30) without affecting volatility and viscosity control requirements.

Tests show that compared with traditional 15W/40 oil, synthetic oil can save fuel by more than 3%.

5. Machine parts cleanliness: The synthetic base oil has the ability to resist thermal decomposition, and is not easy to generate sludge and sediments. Certain synthetic oils also have natural solubility and cleansing properties, which can improve the cleanliness of parts.
